Worth the View
Hike and heart
We hiked the tallest peak in the Kaimai range (just under 1,000 meters)! It was probably the most strenuous and steep hikes I have ever done, but the view at the top was worth it! It was a 360 of the mountain range, the lowlands, and all the way to the ocean! Absolutely incredible! It was so encouraging to be a part of a team that supported each other when the going got hard.
As a part of the hike, we stayed in a hut in the mountains near a river. We spent time in worship and personal time with the Lord, which was amazing! We went swimming everyday in the river, which had a beautiful waterfall downstream. I found a spot in the river on mossy rocks to spend several hours with the Lord.
During a time of prayer, I really felt the Lord give me the word ‘fearless’. Which at first I pushed back against, arguing that fear was what was keeping me safe. But then it hit me, wouldn’t I rather trust the Lord Almighty to protect than my own fear and strength? So I surrendered my fear to the Lord and asked Him to teach me to live fearlessly. I trust Him to never leave me and always protect me, so there truly is nothing to fear.
Its so amazing how God touches the hard places in our heart and softens them. He brings us through hard things that actually strengthens us. And all He asks is that we are strong enough to give Him our burdens and let Him carry us through.
My outreach teams flies out of New Zealand the week of Christmas headed to the Solomon Islands! Please pray for the team as we prepare and for the ministry to be fruitful! We are partnering with local missionaries for ministry, as well as doing evangelism. Please pray for us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading as well as humble as we serve, teach, and love people.
